We began the warm months with a March of Dimes walk for Babies in Pearl River. A bunch of folks from Pfizer - where Andrew works - always take part. Pfizer (formerly Wyeth) hold their own walk at the end of the summer/beginning of fall. The three of us are pictured here together (which is rather rare) near the Pfizer water station.
I had a wonderful year teaching Chemistry at Vassar, and on my last day Robyn decided she'd like to tag along. She had a blast with the Chemistry faculty. And after I was done grading the final papers we took a walk around the beautiful campus and had some ice cream. This is a photo of Robyn in the Shakespeare garden.
I spent about seven months working on a feature film called Pegasus 1 (I had the lead role). It was the first independent film for the producer. He took advantage of some of his fellows who were still studying at The School of Visual Arts and needed thesis work. As a result, the first showing of a shortened version of the film was held at the Dusty Film Festival at the beginning of May as part of SVA's end of year festivities. Robyn and Andrew came along to the screening. Here are Robyn and I outside the theater.
One rainy weekend in May we decided to take Robyn bowling for the first time. Here she is with her orange ball. She had fun for sure.
Robyn's Pre-K class gave a fabulous concert at the end of May. Here is a photo of some of the class of 34. Each of them sported a T-shirt with a letter of the alphabet on the front (to go with many of the songs they sang). Robyn was the letter 'F'. On the back they had written their names and placed their hand prints. After the concert they had their field day. It was a great time.
We spent the last weekend of May in Kanata and Robyn had fun taking baths in her grand parent's jacuzzi tub, running around the garden and making cookies. Here she is helping to spoon the cookie dough onto the baking sheets.
Robyn is having a summer of festivities for her fifth birthday. These began with her birthday party at school on June 9. Here she is with her giant 'Toy Story' cake. We bought it from The Rockland Bakery - it was yummy despite it's size. There was very little of the cake left over. We saved a few pieces for Robyn's actual birthday and the rest was gone.
Robyn took part in the annual Gymnastics City end of year show again this year. Here are a couple of photos. In the top photo you can see her with two of her class mates - Ariana and Sarah.
We spent Robyn's birthday weekend in Stamford CT. The night before we went to see 'Kung Fu Panda 2' in 3D and had a great pizza dinner. The next day we had a relaxing morning and fun breakfast and a swim at the hotel. After that we headed out to the Stepping Stone Museum for Children for the day. In the photo below you can see Robyn playing in the Energy Room.
After a nice dinner in Norwalk CT, we headed home and finished off the remainder of Robyn's birthday cake. You can see that photo next. The rest of Robyn's birthday festivities will continue with our Disney trip later this summer.
We headed to The Bronx Zoo for Father's day this year. In the next photo you can see Robyn and Andrew having a ride on the Camel. While on the circuit, the camel stopped moving - it wanted the handler to scratch it's leg. I'd heard that camels can be stubborn, but that was pretty funny. Too bad I didn't get a good photo of that.
At the beginning of July we headed up to Robyn's Oma and Opa's place for the month. One beautiful Saturday was spent with our lovely friends, Johanna and Adam who live in Waterloo. Robyn absolutely love trains so we took a trip on the Waterloo railway from Waterloo to St. Jacob's. This first photo is one of Robyn in the train. Adam took this photo and Robyn LOVES to have Adam take photos of her. So, it works well.

After we headed back to Waterloo we headed out to the Splash pad. Here are a couple of photos that Adam took at that fun spot. It was a warm day and the water was very refreshing.
We try to head out to the beach at least once a week in the hot months. Here is a photo of Robyn in Wasaga Beach. I'm not sure which she likes better - the water or the sand. In any case, we always have a great time at the beach.
July 16th was cousins Frank and Denise's wedding. Below you can see some of my favorite photos (collected thus far). First of all, the newly married couple.
This is an unofficial family photo taken by Lydia's boyfriend while we were getting the official photos done.
Robyn had an absolute blast playing with all her wonderful cousins - and their significant others. Here she is running races with herself. It was hard to get her to sit at all for the entire day. She just seemed to be soaking in all the family she could. She loves them all so much. Lydia took this photo.
Here is a photo of the wedding cake. Each of the spoons was painted by Joe, one of cousin Frank's oldest friends. The two biggest spoons were excellent likenesses of Frank and Denise. Other examples of Joe's art were used at table center pieces - jars and jars of rocks painted with faces of all kinds.
It was a wonderful celebration!
The garden is always enjoyable at Oma and Opa's. Here is Robyn and a few dinosaurs in Opa's veggie garden.
And also enjoying lying in the hammock under the apple, pear and plum trees.
Robyn and I headed out to Elora one day to meet with Christine and her daughter Tabitha, as well as our friend Janet. It was a really great, great day. Neither Christine nor I had met with Janet in twenty two years - and it was like no time had passed. We had a great time chatting and looking in the shops. Tabitha and Robyn had fun at the splash pad in Elora for a while. But try as I might to get both girls in one photo, I ended up always catching Robyn on her own. Here is a photo of Robyn, completely soaked.
We also had a great time at Downey's Farm with Aneta, Adam and Julian. What a great place for kids to play and have fun! Here you can see Robyn and Adam on the tractor ride. We'll have to go there again soon.
